Performance Training in Overland Park, KS
Performance Training
Getting out of pain is the start, not the finish. At Rebuild Chiropractic, performance training builds the strength and resilience that keep you doing what you love for years, not weeks.

What Is Performance Training?

Performance training is structured, progressive strength work built around your body and your goals. It picks up where rehab ends, taking you from no longer injured to genuinely robust.
The programming is individual. A runner protecting their knees, a lifter chasing a number, and an adult over fifty protecting their independence all need progressive loading, but they do not need the same programme.
At Rebuild Chiropractic in Overland Park, performance training runs through our hybrid coaching model. You train with support in the clinic and follow your programme in the app between sessions, with your coach adjusting as you progress.
What We Build
Resilience is not one quality. These are the areas a good programme develops together.
Strength
Progressive loading so your tissue tolerates more than your sport demands of it.
Movement Quality
Technique that lets you load heavily without paying for it later.
Work Capacity
The conditioning to repeat effort without form falling apart.
Durability
Addressing the specific weak links that have caused you problems before.
Training built on an understanding of your injury history is what separates progress from another setback. That history is exactly what we already know by the time you reach this stage.

Dr. Luke Bergner is a fantastic coach and guide. I can’t say enough good things about his approach. He truly listens, educates, and tailors his input and exercises to meet me where I am, while encouraging me to challenge myself. He builds confidence and strength! He’s thoughtful, flexible, encouraging, and thorough. I have autoimmune symptoms that were causing pain and limiting my lifestyle. Dr. Luke asked questions, learned, and provided me with options so that I could adapt to my symptoms day by day and still move forward. I’m grateful and glad that I went to see Dr. Luke!

I am very pleased with the results I got from my experience working with Dr. Luke on some back/hip issues. I was leery with his different approach to address my discomfort but his treatment really does seek to rebuild you and give you a long-term fix. He is extremely flexible and worked around some crazy travel plans I had during our time together to make sure I still got the results I wanted. I cannot recommend enough at least taking a phone call with him to discuss any long-term, lingering pain issues you might have to see if you'd be a good fit for one of his programs.

I went to see Dr. Luke at the recommendation of my sister to see about some SI Joint pain that was limiting my strength and mobility. This was about two weeks from a CrossFit competition, and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to compete as well as I knew I could. Within those two weeks, Dr. Luke worked with me to regain my strength and mobility so that I was able to compete and compete well. I would recommend him to anyone not only because of his expertise, but also his determination to keep people moving and to keep them doing what it is they enjoying doing.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Plenty of people come straight to performance training. If you have an injury history we will assess it properly before programming around it.
The coaching is similar but the background differs. Programmes are built by someone who assessed your movement clinically and knows your injury history, which changes what goes into them.
Not at all. Starting from scratch is often easier than undoing years of habits. Everything is scaled to where you are and progressed from there.
Yes, and it is one of the most valuable things you can do. Progressive strength work protects bone density, balance, and independence. The loading is scaled appropriately, not avoided.
It varies. The hybrid model means some of your training happens in the clinic and some on your own with the app, so the in-person frequency flexes around your schedule.
Yes. Many people train independently and use sessions for coaching, progression, and technique work. Your programme can be written around the equipment you have.
You tell us and we adjust. Having a provider who can assess the problem clinically and modify the programme immediately is the main advantage of training here.
Strength changes are usually noticeable within a few weeks, with more substantial gains over months. You will have measurable numbers to track rather than relying on feel.
Yes. Training for a marathon and training for a powerlifting meet look very different, and the programme should reflect what you are actually preparing for.
Your programme is in the app with video guidance, and you have direct access to your coach for questions. That support between visits is where most of the progress happens.
